Think you can ride like a motorcycle cop? On this episode of On Two Wheels, Evan Allen heads to the Huntington Beach Police Department motorcycle training course to find out just how difficult motor officer training really is. With guidance from retired Redondo Beach motor officer and certified motorcycle instructor Bill Turner, Evan spends two days learning the fundamentals of slow-speed motorcycle control, including clutch and throttle modulation, rear brake control, counterbalancing, vision, and precision cone-course riding. Using a Honda NT1100 Police motorcycle, he progresses through a series of increasingly challenging drills before taking on the full motor officer cone course and a head-to-head timed challenge against his instructor. Along the way, Evan discovers that motorcycle police training is about much more than weaving through cones. It is about mastering the fundamentals that make every rider safer, smoother, and more confident on the street. Watch to see how close Evan gets to a veteran motor officer's time and what lessons every motorcyclist can take away from this unique riding experience.
